Scores feared dead as Boko Haram launches attack on Maiduguri

Several number of people are reportedly dead, following attack on Maiduguri, the capital city of Borno State, by suspected Boko Haram insurgents.

The terrorists, who struck at Dalori area of the city, took the sleepy suburb by surprise as they randomly killed people and razed houses.

Witnesses said the terrorists entered the town through Wanori at around 7pm on Saturday.

Colonel Mustapha Anka, the spokesman of theatre operation in Borno State, confirmed the incident, saying he could not establish the number of the casualty.

He assured that they were making efforts to ensure peace in the area.
