The Prosecution Counsel, Insp Funmi Akinleye, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on June 19 at the church premises.

Akinleye said that the defendant informed the pastor in charge of the church that some thieves broke into the premises.

The prosecutor said that the defendant said he was not on the church premises when the thieves broke in.

The offence, he said, contravened the provisions of sections 287 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs O.O Fajana, admitted the defendant bail in the sum of N100, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
