A security report written by AIG Zone 1 Police Headquarters in Kano has confirmed DAILY NIGERIAN report that there was actually shooting at the police headquarters on Friday.
The spokesman for the zonal command, Abubakar Ambursa, had earlier refuted DAILY NIGERIAN story on the attack, describing it as fake news.
“Our attention has been drawn to the report circulating that some terrorists fired shots at the headquarters on Friday.
“Nothing of such had happened. It is nothing but concocted lies by some disgruntled elements.
“There is a Friday Mosque at the headquarters, and as at the time they said that terrorists fired the shots, it was time for prayers, because we said our prayers by 1 p.m.,’’ Ambursa said.
But an incident report that emanated from the AIG office confirmed the shooting, but said only one shot was fired by the terrorists around 11:45am on Friday.
The police report read in part: “A convoy of three cars, among which are Toyota Corolla LE in ash colour, while passing by Zone One Headquarters gate mine fired a shot from one of the cars and zoomed up (sic).”
The police added that intensive manhunt of the hoodlums in on top gear.
