The Senator who represented Kaduna Central in the 8th National Assembly, Shehu Sani has expressed his resolve to contest elective position in the 2023 general elections, just as he said that he had no fear for anything.

Recall that Governor Nasir El-Rufai had bragged of having retired Mr Sani, Senator Sulaiman Hunkuyi as well as a few others in the state who lost their bid to return to their elective positions during the last General elections.

However, Senator Sani who spoke on Wednesday, shortly after receiving an award of excellence from the Sabon Garin Nassarawa Elders’ Forum in Kaduna, said: “We are not done yet with Kaduna politics, and we shall return.

“We have no fear for anything and nothing will scare us from contesting in 2023. When our people want us to return, we shall return,” Mr Sani stressed.

Mr Sani who is also a human rights activist, explained that while in office, the 8th Senate was able to defend the integrity and independence of the parliament.

According to him, the 8th Senate stood firm to protect and defend democracy, and checkmated the excessive power of the executive and carried out its constitutional functions and duties without fear or favour.
