Concerned members of the Niger State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, have disclosed that the leader of the electoral team for local council congresses, Senator Hamman Misau, has absconded from his duty half-way through.
Addressing a news conference on Sunday, a former deputy governor of the state, Dr. Shem Zagbayi-Nuhu, said Mr Misau and his members had sneaked out of Minna, the state capital, around 5: AM on Sunday, leaving behind one of the members who insisted on waiting for the collection of all results.
Mr Zagbayi-Nuhu stressed that no amount of treachery, machinations and arm twisting would be allowed in the conduct of the congress.
He said: “On the 5th of September 2020, The Local Government congresses in Niger State held, and all results were announced, collated and all winners were sworn-in and have since resumed as provided in the PDP guidelines for 2020, section 3.4, Zagbayi said with exception of 1) Agaie: No elections, Magama: No election, Munya: No Election, Shiroro: election held in 4 wards of 15, Agwara: No Election.”
However, DAILY NIGERIAN is yet to reach Senator Misau as several calls on his phone lines did not go through.
