The Senate has approved President Bola Tinubu’s request to appoint 20 special advisers.
Mr Tinubu’s request was contained in a letter read at plenary by the Senate President Ahmad Lawan on Tuesday.
After the letter was read, Senate Leader, Ibrahim Gobir, APC – Sokoto East, moved that “the Senate do consider the request.
The motion was seconded by the Senate Minority Leader, Philip Aduda, after which the red chamber promptly approved it.
The president didn’t, however, attach the names of the advisers to the letter read by Mr Lawan.
This will be Mr Tinubu’s first request for a political appointment to the National Assembly since he was sworn in on May 29.
