A senator representing Kaduna Central senatorial district, Shehu Sani, on Friday, urged President Muhammadu Buhari to name the politicians who lobbied Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo for a vice-presidential position during Mr Buhari’s medical vacation in London.
Mr Buhari, who was on a 2-day working visit in Jos, Plateau State, broke silence over the matter, revealing that some politicians jostled for the position of VP while he was on medical trip in United Kingdom.
However, the outspoken senator, on Friday took to his twitter handle and asked Mr Buhari to name those that lobbied for the position during his medical sojourn in London.
He said: “The President said in Jos that when he was on medical vacation, some people spread the rumors that he was dead and ‘started lobbying the Ag President to make them vp, Mr President, please name them.”
Recall that Mr Buhari spent months in a London hospital, receiving treatment for a yet undisclosed ailment, last year, casting doubt over the survival of the president.
Rumours then made the rounds that some politicians lobbied Mr Osinbajo, the then Acting President, to make them VP, believing that Mr Buhari might die, and he (Osinbajo) would become the president.
