PRNigeria publisher loses father, Sheikh Abdulhameed Agaka

Sheikh Abdulhameed Agaka, the father of the publisher of PRNigeria, Yushau Shuaib, has passed on at the age of 77.

The deceased was a prominent Islamic teacher and Chief Imam of Agaka Community in Ilorin.

Confirming the death to DAILY NIGERIAN, Mr Shuaib said the septuagenarian died at Idera Hospital in Ilorin on Saturday night after a brief illness.

Mr Shuaib said the deceased will be buried on Sunday morning according to Islamic rites.

Imam Abdulhameed was born into the family of Imam Shuaib Said, a renowned Quranic teacher and Islamic leader in Agaka.

He was educated at the School for Arabic Studies, SAS, in Kano before proceeding to Bayero University Kano, where he obtained a Ph.D in Quranic Morphology and Arabic Grammar.

The late Islamic scholar was the Head of Arabic Studies Departments at School for Arabic Studies, the Women Arabic Teachers College, Aminu Kano College of Islamic and Legal Studies, among others.
