The Department of State Security Service, SSS, said it has begun an investigation into the alleged killing of a policeman by its operatives in Osun State.
Recall that on Thursday, January 21, suspected SSS operatives had attacked a police corporal, Rauf Fawale, around Oke Fia area of Oshogbo Local Government Area of the state, leading to his death on Sunday.
Issuing a statement on Wednesday, the SSS spokesman, Peter Afunanya, assured Nigerians that the culprits will be brought to book.
According to him, the department stressed that it will not condone any acts of indiscipline or injustice.
The statement said: “The attention of the Department of State Services (DSS) has been drawn to the incident that led to the death of a Police Corporal in Osun State.
“Consequently, the Service and the Police are jointly investigating the matter.
“The public should be rest assured that it will not condone any acts of indiscipline or injustice.
“It therefore calls on the media and other stakeholders to exercise patience and await the outcome of the investigations.”
