The State Security Service, SSS, on Tuesday invited six directors of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, for questioning at its headquarters in Abuja.
According to Thisday report, top INEC officials invited include the director of Information and Communication Technology, Chidi Nwafor, whose department is in charge of the card readers, as well as his counterpart in charge of procurement and four other directors.
It was gathered the questioning may not be unconnected with the postponement of the general election by one week by the commission last Saturday.

However, sources have revealed that the SSS has called off the invitation.
It was also gathered that the cancellation followed fears that the invitation by the SSS may distract the commission from concentrating on preparations for this Saturday’s presidential and National Assembly elections.
