Submit yourself to police, Shehu Sani advises Dino Melaye

The senator representing Kaduna central in the National Assembly, Shehu Sani has advised his fellow senator representing Kogi West, Dino Melaye, to voluntarily submit himself to the police.

Recall that operatives of the Nigerian police have been at Mr Melaye’s residence to arrest him over allegations of shooting a police sergeant, Danjuma Saliu, attached to 37 Police Mobile Force, PMF while on duty in Aiyetoro Gbede, Mopa Road in Kogi.

Mr Sani gave this advice following the running battle between the Nigeria police and the Kogi born politician.

Giving the advice in his Twitter handle, Mr Sani said: “The police should end the siege on Senator Dino’s House and the Senator should voluntarily present himself to the police with his legal team.

“The Gaza treatment is unhelpful to the image of the Police, the Government and the nation.”

However, Daily Nigerian gathered that the police continue to lay siege on the residence of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP senator for over 48 hours.

The police, in its statement, said its operatives’ deployed to arrest Mr Melaye in his residence won’t retreat until the PDP senator surrenders himself for arrest and investigation.
