Zamfara State government and the management of Sudan International University have reached an agreement to establish affiliate medical college in Gusau, Zamfara State.
Governor Bello Matawalle made the disclosure shortly after receiving the management delegation of the university led by its Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Bakri Osman-Saeed.
According to a statement by the governor’s SSA on New Media, Ibrahim Bello-Zauma, the delegation, ushered in by the Special Adviser on Scholarship Luqman Majidadi, had fruitful discussions with Mr Matawalle.

“The governor has discussed with the team and Sudan International University has offered to establish a Faculty of Medical Science to train students on different medical courses.
“He further disclosed that land would be provided for it as the MoU would be signed immediately after Sallah,” the statement disclosed.
Describing the development, the governor said that the establishment would curtail the shortage of medical doctors in the State.
On his part, Mr Osman-Saeed expressed appreciation and gratitude to the governor for his commitment to development, simplicity and welcoming gestures.
He asserted that the university would admit Zamfara students at a subsidized rate as a special discount for the host state in addition to other benefits.
