Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has vowed to fish out the killers of Salisu Usman, a nephew to a former Minister of Information, Labaran Maku, in the state.
DAILY NIGERIAN recalls that late Usman, an immigration officer, was killed by his abductors and dumped behind his family compound in Gudi.
Narrating the incident, the father of the victim, Usman Salisu, a retired immigration officer, said the gunmen scaled the fence to gain access before firing three shots at the Late Sa’adatu through her window.
“I was on the dining table eating when I heard the first gunshot, second shot then third, as a police officer, I concluded these are robbers. Then shortly I heard my children screaming with their late sister in a pool of blood”
“I quickly put a call to one of my friends, who is also a retired police officer. But before the police came, they had killed my daughter and went away with my son, Usman Salisu who is an Immigration officer and his wife before they later killed him,” Mr Usman said.
While paying a condolence visit to the parents of the deceased on Thursday at Gudi area of Akwanga Local Government Area, Governor Sule assured that his administration would spare no efforts in tackling violent crimes in the state.
According to the governor, the killings were barbaric and unjustifiable, saying his administration would ensure that the perpetrators are brought to book.
On his part, Mr Maku, a brother to the father of the late siblings thanked the governor for the visit while calling for sustained efforts to rid the state of criminal elements.
