The Supreme Court this morning affirmed the election of Alhaji Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo as the dully elected governor Gombe State in the April 11 governorship election.
In dismissing an appeal challenging the re-election of the Gombe State governor filed by the All Progressives Congress (APC) Mohammed Inuwa Yahya, the panel of Justices concurred with the earlier verdict of the Governorship Tribunal and the Court of Appeal.
The Gombe election tribunal had validated the election of Governor Dankwambo following a petition by the APC’s candidate. An appeal of the tribunal’s judgment to the Yola Division of the Court of Appeal also confirmed Dankwambo as the validly elected candidate.
