Tambuwal appoints late Imam Imam’s replacement

The Sokoto State governor, Aminu Tambuwal, has appointed Abu Shekara to replace his late Special Adviser on Media, Imam Imam, DAILY NIGERIAN can report.

Mr Imam died after brief illness at Nizamieye Turkish Hospital in Abuja over complications of pneumonia on April 27.

Two months after Mr Imam’s death, Mr Tambuwal announced the appointment of Mr Shekara as Director General, Media and Public Affairs.

Until his appointment, Mr Shekara was the Managing Director of Sokoto State Media Corporation.

DAILY NIGERIAN gathered that Mr Shekara would be assisted by prominent journalists, Yusuf Dingyadi and Kabir Assada, whose appointment as Senior Special Assistants to the governor was announced last week.
