Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State has nominated a 31-year-old man, Bashir Gorau, for appointment as a commissioner in his administration.

The state Government House made the disclosure on Friday through its verified Twitter handle.

“In fulfilling the old tales of the youth being the leaders of tomorrow, Today Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal appoints Hon Bashir Gorau a 31-year-old as a commissioner in his Administration,” the statement read.

DAILY NIGERIAN reports that Governor Tambuwal had forwarded Mr Gorau’s name to the State Assembly for confirmation, replacing Bello Goronyo, the immediate past Commissioner for Solid Minerals who is now the state Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

The governor’s letter of request was read on the floor of the Assembly by the Speaker, Aminu Achida at plenary on Wednesday.

The Speaker directed that the nominee be notified to appear before the Assembly for screening on Tuesday, October 27.
