Tearing statement: Court slams N300 million bail bond on Metuh

The battle for freedom by the spokesman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Olisah Metuh, faced a hitch on Friday as Abuja High Court slammed N300million bail bond on the embattle opposition politician.

Earlier in the week, the spokesman of PDP was granted bail on even more stringent conditions as his sureties were asked to provide N400million bail bond.

Metuh was brought before the court on a two-count charge of destruction of his statement at the office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

The court ruled that Metuh must also provide two sureties each with like sum and have easily-accessible assets within the FCT.

Justice Ishaq Bello therefore adjourned the bail application for Monday, and ordered Metuh be returned to the Kuje prison.
