A popular Kano-based Islamic cleric, Nasidi Goron-Dutse, has cried out over “an increasing economic hardship” faced especially by Nigerian Muslims.

Although the Islamic preacher, who is said to be rendering spiritual service to President Muhammadu Buhari, did not mention the president’s name, he however alluded to the widespread hardship, inflation and unemployment in the country.

“In my entire life, I have never seen Nigerian Muslims suffer this way.

“I don’t know if it had happened before me, but to me, this is the worst situation Muslims have found themselves in, in this country,” the preacher lamented in the footage believed to be recorded at one of his preaching sessions in Kano.

The cleric, therefore, called on the people to support the needy, no matter how little, saying that, “this is the best time to give charity as life is becoming too difficult”.

Citing a Hadith of the Prophet Muhammad, PBUH, he quoted the Holy Prophet as saying, said, “the most rewarding charity is the one given to a person in dire need.”
