President Muhammadu Buhari is meeting behind closed doors with some Governors of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The Governors were led by the Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, PGF, Governor Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State.

Those in attendance include the Chief of Staff to the President, Professor Ibrahim Gambari; Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Boss Mustapha; Governors Babagana Zulum of Borno and Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna.

Others are Governors Mohammed Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa; Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa; Simon Lalong of Plateau; Yahaya Bello of Kogi and Hope Uzodinma of Imo State.

Although the agenda of the meeting was not disclosed to newsmen, DAILY NIGERIAN gathered that the parley might not be unconnected with the quest for choosing a running mate for the APC presidential flagbearer, Bola Tinubu.

Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, had announced that June 17 deadline for the submission of presidential candidates and their running mates remain sacrosanct.
