Bola Tinubu has been sworn into office as the 16th President, Commander-in-Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on Monday.
Chief Justice of Nigeria Kayode Ariwoola administered the oath of office on Mr Tinubu at exactly 10:37am.
Mr Tinubu mounted the podium alongside his wife, Oluremi Tinubu; former President Muhammadu Buhari and his wife, Aisha Buhari and their son Yusuf stood behind Mr Tinubu as he took the oath of office.
Earlier, Kashim Shettima took the oath as vice-president at exactly 10:28am.
Mr Tinubu won February 25 Nigerian presidential election the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, after defeating his opponents, including a former vice president, Atiku Abubakar of People’s Democratic Party, PDP and; Peter Obi of Labour Party, LP and Rabiu Kwankwaso of New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP.
