The Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN has received and acted on 13,772 mails received from Thursday January 2, to Friday December 18, 2020.
This is made known by Umar Gwandu, spokesman for the minister, in a statement sent to DAILY NIGERIAN on Sunday.
The breakdown shows that the Minister received and treated a total of 4,679 mails from government agencies, while 5,281 mails were received from law firms.
Mr Gwandu said 756 mails were received from civil society organizations, while the remaining 3,056 were received from individuals.
The statement said Mr Malami received 2,024 letters in January, one 1,290 in February, and 1,398 in the month of March.
Mr Gwandu noted that only 12 mails were received in the month of April due to COVID-19 lockdown.
He said in the month of May, Mr Malami received 563 mails, while 1,136 mails were received in June and in July 1,124 were received.
In the month of August, 1,171 mails were received and treated, while in September 1,633 letters were received and treated.
In October, the Attorney-General received 1,120 letters, and in November 1,471 mails were received and treated.
Mr Gwandu added that as at Friday December 18, a total of 730 mails were received.
