The National and State House of Assembly Elections Petition Tribunal sitting in Kano on Tuesday dismissed the petition filed by Umar Abdullahi Ganduje of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Mr Umar is a son of former Kano governor and APC national chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje.
Mr Ganduje filed the petition to challenge the victory of Tijjani AbdulKadir Jobe of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, in Federal House of Representatives Election conducted on February 25 for Rimin Gado/Dawakin Tofa/Tofa/constituency.
Delivering the judgement, the three-man panel of the tribunal ruled that the petition lacked merit.
The tribunal ruled that the petitioner has failed to prove his allegations made during the conduct of the election beyond reasonable doubt.
The sum of N200,000 cost was also awarded to the respondents, jointly and severally.
