An election petition Tribunal sitting in Kano has upheld the victory of the member representing Kiru/Bebeji Federal Constituency, Abdulmumini Jibrin, at the 2023 general elections.

Delivering its judgement on Wednesday, the three-member panel presided over by Justice Ngozi Flora dismissed the petition filed by the All Progressive Congress, APC candidate, Muhammad Said Kiru.

According to the panel, Mr Kiru’s petition and witnesses failed to prove allegations of disenfranchisement during the election.

The panel averred that the documents adduced before the tribunal by both parties have indicated that the NNPP candidate resigned his position as Executive Secretary of the Federal Housing Authority, 30 days before the conduct of the election against the assertion by the petitioner.
