The newly appointed Vice-Chancellor of the University of Maiduguri, Professor Aliyu Shugaba will, on Saturday, August 3 2019, be conferred with the Prestigious Fellowship Award and ICON of Excellent Diplomatic Leadership and Management Award of the Institute of Business Diplomacy and Financial Management, IBDFM.
Speaking to newsmen in Abuja on Wednesday, the Registrar and Secretary to Council of the Institute, Mr Sukana Danjuma Tusha confirmed the conferment of the awards on Shugaba.
Tusha said the decision was reached after considering Shugaba’s his sterling leadership and management qualities as demonstrated by the numerous developmental strides geared towards moving the university to a world-class status.
The Registrar said by the awards, the Shugaba will not only be the first Vice-Chancellor to bag the fellowship, but also the first to earn the award.
He added that the fellowship of the institute is an accolade and honour worthy of celebration.
The Programme which is the 17th edition in the series, titled “Managing Emotions in the Workplace” will have a prominent politician, pharmacist, philanthropist and entrepreneur, Dr. Mike Omotosho as the chairman of the occasion.
The president and chairman of council, Prof. A. A. Aminu will preside over the event while Dr. Faajir Avanenge of the Department of Business Administration, Benue State University Makurdi who is also a Fellow of the Institute will be the Guest Speaker and Facilitator at the programme.
