A powerful explosion has rocked Sabongari area of Kano on Tuesday morning.
Details of the incident are sketchy but witnesses told DAILY NIGERIAN that the deafening explosion occurred at Aba Road, Sabongari Kano.
The Kano State Commissioner of Police Samaila Dikko later dismissed media reports that bomb exploded in the area
Speaking at the scene of the incident, the police commissioner however said it was a gas cylinder used for welding that exploded and killed at least four persons.
He said rescue operations is ongoing at the scene of the explosion.
