President Muhammadu Buhari is meeting with the governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, on Tuesday, a few days after the governor escaped assassination.
Although the agenda of the meeting was not disclosed, DAILY NIGERIAN gathered that the visit might not be unconnected with the recent attack on the governor.
Recall that Mr Ortom had accused the Fulani herders of plotting to kill him during an attack on him while on a visit to his farm on Saturday.
Speaking with the State House correspondents shortly after meeting President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, Mr Ortom said he had no reason to fake his attack, expressing sadness about those who doubted the incident.
The governor wondered the benefit he would derive from raising a false allegation.
