Russia and Uruguay progressed to the World Cup knockout rounds on Wednesday after the South Americans beat Saudi Arabia 1-0, ending the hopes of the Saudis and Mohamed Salah’s Egypt.
Luis Suarez broke the deadlock midway through the first half on his 100th international appearance and the Saudis failed to find an equaliser, slipping to their second straight defeat.
