Wadume’s arrest will bring answers to numerous unanswered questions – IGP

The Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu has commended the Nigeria Police Force and the general public over the arrest of the wanted kidnap kingpin, Hamisu Wadume, saying that the arrest would will bring answers to numerous unanswered questions.

DAILY NIGERIAN reports that the police and the Nigerian Army had been at each other’s neck, advancing different narratives about the killing of 3 policemen by some soldiers in Taraba State and freeing of the arrested kidnap kingpin.

Mr Wadume was later re-arrested in the late hours of Monday, August 19, in his hideout at Layin Mai Allo Hotoro area of Kano State, after a massive manhunt launched since August 6.

In a statement by the spokesperson for the Police Headquarters, Frank Mba, the IGP commended the police operatives for their perseverance and painstaking efforts.

The spokesperson said that the IGP, “expressed his profound gratitude to all Nigerians for their unparalleled show of love and empathy to the Force and the families of the officers and patriotic civilians who paid the supreme price in the service of their fatherland.

“It is his belief that the re-arrest of the suspect, Hamisu Bala Wadume, will no doubt, help in bringing answers to the numerous but hitherto unanswered questions touching on the incident and the larger criminal enterprise of the suspect,” the statement noted.
