Famous Nigerian Afrobeat artist, David Adeleke, aka Davido, has revealed what his father told him after failing to clinch the 66th Grammy award.

Recall that Davido, along with four other ace Nigerian artists, Olamide, Ayra, Asake, and Burna Boy, did not win any of the three categories in which they were nominated.

But the music star said his billionaire father, Deji Adeleke, still sees him as a legend despite not winning the famous award.

Davido also said he was pleased with himself for being nominated for the 66th global music award held last Sunday at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

He disclosed this during a recent interview with rolling stones.

“Merely receiving a nomination makes me feel good about myself. Initially, all I wanted is for my song to be played on the radio once or twice; nonetheless, it’s incredible and entirely God’s doing that it has reached this level.

“No matter what happens, son, you are still a legend,” my father told me over the phone yesterday. He is a huge fan, so yes,” he remarked.
