The chairman Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-corruption Commission, Muhuyi Rimingado, has revealed the reason why he has suspended the probe on emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II.
The embattled monarch was facing probe by the commission over alleged misappropriation f the emirate council’s fund to the tune of over N4 billion.
The emir would also appear at the state’s House of Assembly to answer questions on 8-count charges.
In a telephone interview with DAILY NIGERIAN correspondent on Saturday, Mr. Rimingado said they had decided to suspend their probe on the emir because the State House of Assembly had also lunched its own investigation on him.
“We cannot make investigation concurrently with the House. Since they have launched their investigation, so we have suspended our own indefinitely.
“We have even written a later to the emirate council, informing them of our decision. We have notified them that the probe has been suspended until the state assembly is done with its investigation,” he added.
