A housewife, Amina Abashe, has allegedly poured boiling water on her husband, Shehu Abdullahi, after a disagreement over her frequent calls to other men.

The couple, who are based in Kontagora LGA of Niger State, reportedly got married two months before the incident.

The husband, who spoke to Daily Trust from his hospital bed at the General Hospital, Kontagoro, said the incident happened on Tuesday.

Mr Abdullahi further explained that two months after their marriage, the wife has refused to move to his house, forcing him to complain to her parents.

According to him, on Tuesday evening, the day the incident happened, his wife called him on the phone to come to their house, and right there, she told him that she was no longer interested in the marriage.

He said the wife claimed to have gotten another lover who was willing to pay him back his dowry.

He alleged that at that same venue, she was on the phone with a man suspected to be her boyfriend..
