The Chairman of Air Peace, Allen Onyema, on Wednesday appeared before the House of Representatives for honour over his philanthropic service of evacuating Nigerians under xenophobic attacks in South Africa.
DAILY NIGERIAN reports that when the House Chief Whip, Mohammed Monguno, ushered Mr Onyema into the chamber, several lawmakers approached him for embrace and hands shake.
Speaking shortly aftter opening prayers, Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila asked that the Order Paper for Wednesday’s plenary be temporarily suspended to allow the lawmakers to receive Mr Onyema for recognition.
“This is one of our epic moments in the chambers,” Mr Gbajabiamila said.
