Kogi State Deputy Governor, Simon Achuba, on Thursday alleged that Governor Yahaya Bello has mobilised gunmen to attack him.

DAILY NIGERIAN reports that the governor and his deputy had been at loggerheads over an alleged political difference.

Recall that a few days ago, the deputy governor had threatened to sue Mr Bello for withholding his salaries and all other financial benefits from 2017 till date.

In a letter addressed to the governor, Mr Achuba’s lawyer, Femi Falana, said if the allowances are not paid within seven days, he would be left with no option other than to approach the court.

According to the letter, the backlog of travel allowances, hotel bills, pledges and outstanding monthly imp rest and salaries entitled to him amounts to N819,709,980.

However, Mr Achuba has come up a fresh allegation.

Mr Achuba, who disclosed this to newsmen in Lokoja, called on the State Security Service and the Inspector-General of Police to take note of the allegation.

“From all information at my disposal, the governor has mobilized gunmen to attack me.

“I want the police, SSS, IGP to know that if anything should happen to me, my family and aides, the governor should be held responsible,” Mr Achuba said.
