Yobe commissioners-designate, advisers to get portfolios Friday

The 20 commissioners appointed by Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State into the state executive council will be sworn into office on Friday.

A statement signed by Baba Ali-Mohammed, a permanent secretary, political affairs in the governor’s office, said the swearing-in ceremony will take place at the Banquet Hall of the Government House, Damaturu at 10: am.

According to the statement, the special advisers appointed by the governor will also be administered to the oath at the ceremony.

DAILY NIGERIAN reports that the swearing-in of the commissioners-designate comes a week after they were treated to a two-day retreat in Kano.

During the retreat, the commissioners interacted with various resource persons on the subjects of governance and effective socio-economic development.

In his speech at the opening of the retreat, Governor Buni had charged the commissioners-designate to roll up their sleeves and join in the hard work of moving the state forward.
