The Yobe State Orphans and Vulnerable Persons Welfare Foundation has commended Governor Mai Mala Buni for donating clothing materials to the vulnerable in the state.

The chairman of the foundation, Ibrahim Kalallawa, gave commendation during the distribution of the materials to the targeted beneficiaries in Damaturu.

Mr Kalallawa said the gesture came at the right time considering the current inflation in the country.

He said the governor had also, during the recent sallah, donated cows to the orphans and vulnerable.

“Both the clothing materials and the six cows were donated by Governor Mai Mala Buni in order to put smiles on the faces of the orphans and other vulnerable persons in society.

“We are very grateful to the governor and indeed the state government for supporting the less privileged at all times,” Mr Kalallawa said.

The secretary of the foundation, Yusuf Dikko, said the distribution covered areas with registered vulnerable persons.

He said the foundation had the register that contained the list of the less privileged across the state, especially Damaturu.
