The People Democratic Party, PDP, governorship candidate in Zamfara, Bello Matawallen-Maradun has donated 300 bags of assorted grains to Internally Displaced Persons in Maradun local government area of the state.

Mr Matawallen-Maradun gave the donation on Saturday at a Governorship campaign rally in Maradun town, headquarters of Maradun local government.

He expressed sadness over the plight of the IDPs scatted in different locations of the state and parts of the country.

According to him, PDP was seriously worried about the unfortunate situation caused by insecurity challenges in the state.

“We in PDP are seriously worried about the situation in Zamfara state where innocent citizens are being killed, women being raped on daily basis”, he added.

He urged the electorate to massively vote for PDP to end the unwarranted killings across the state.

He explained that PDP government would do everything possible to put an end to banditry.

“I am in the race to salvage the people of Zamfara state by providing quality leadership with emphasis on the security challenge”, he said.

He also promised to create job opportunities to the teeming youths through skills acquisition programmes.

The governorship candidate expressed concern over high rate of unemployment among youths in the state.

“It is a source of concern that skills acquisition programmes introduced by previous administrations are no longer functional in the state today”, he added.

He urged the supporters of the party to remain calm and conduct campaign activities peacefully.
