The Zamfara Agency for Community and Social Development, CSD, has disbursed N40.9 million to five communities in the state for various development projects.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the benefitting communities are Nasarawa Mailayi in Birnin-Magaji, Kofar-Yamma in Maradun and Nasarawar-Burkullu in Bukkuyum Local Government Areas.
Other communities are Dustin-Dan ajiya community and Tungar-Adaka community in Anka Local Government Area.

Presenting the cheques to the project implementation committees of the communities in Gusau on Tuesday, the Head of Service, Alhaji Mujitaba Isah, urged them to ensure justice, fairness and transparency in executing the projects.
He commended the agency for improving the socio-economic activities of the people especially in the rural communities.
Mr Isah thanked state government and other donors for supporting the agency.

Earlier, General Manager of the agency, Garba Muhammad said the cheque of N40.9 million would be presented to the five communities for various community development projects
He said Nasarawa Mailayi community in Birin-Magaji Local Government Area would get N7.7 million for renovation and furnishing of medical staff quarters, drilling and installation of two hand water pumps.
“Other projects to be executed in the same community are renovation and furnishing of teachers’ houses and repairs of ambulance,’’ he said.

He said Kofar-Yamma community in Maradun Local Government Area would get N5.2 million for the construction of one block of two classrooms, drilling and installation of two hand water pumps.
He said Tungar-Dan ajiya community in Anka Local Government area would get N9.3 million for construction of one block of two class rooms, renovation and equipping of a clinic, drilling and installation of two water hand pumps.

He said Tungar-Adaka community also in Anka Local Government Area would get N9.3 million for the construction and equipping the clinic, construction of one block of two classrooms, drilling and installation of two water pumps.
He said Nasarawar-Burkullu community in Bukkuyum Local Government Area would get N9.3 million for installation of 300 KVA transformer, renovation of one block of two classrooms and construction of 24 open shops in Nasarawa Market.
