The National leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu recant on his statement calling on the Federal Government to recruit about 50 million Army to fight criminality in the country.

Recall that on Monday, Mr Tinubu, while speaking during his 69th birthday and 12th colloquium held in Kano State, said the country is under-policed.

“We are under-policed and we are competing with armed robbers and bandits to recruit from the youths who are unemployed —33 percent unemployed?

The comments attracted wide-ranging criticism from various social commentators and political opponents of the former Lagos State governor.

Apparently succumbing to the pressure, Mr Tinubu, through his media aide, Tunde Rahman, said he never meant to say so.

According to him, it was a slip of the tongue.

Speaking with the P.M. News, Mr Rahman said his principal meant to say that the Federal Government should employ five million youths into the Army.
