Anas Dauda-Sadauki, the CEO and founder of Awareness Against Terrorism, has disclosed that he floated the non-governmental organization with a view to addressing youth restiveness in society.

Speaking with DAILY NIGERIAN in Kano, the Mass Communications graduate from Bayero University, Kano said the organisation focuses on educating the youth on how to stay away from terrorism.

According to him, Nigerian youth must remain safe so that they can have a better life and future.

He said: “Our main concern is that the youth come together to save our lives because we are the leaders of tomorrow. If we don’t improve our lives, we will surely reap a bad life in the future.

“Our programme has already started. We are going to remand homes and prisons to meet youths who have committed crimes like murder, robbery, kidnapping, and other vices to sensitize them.

“We often get them freed and put them in schools. We will give capital and requisite material to those who are willing to start small businesses because most of them are under 18 years.”

Speaking on the successes recorded, Mr Sadauki said the NGO has visited more than 25 schools in the North West.

“The things we have done include going to secondary schools and talking to students on how to avoid falling into terrorism and we thank God for this, as we have recorded success. So far we have been to more than 25 schools in the North West,” he added.
