The Organizing Committee of the Muhammadu Sanusi II Colloquium has fixed Saturday as the day for a maiden colloquium to mark the 60th birthday of the former Emir of Kano.

A statement by the Secretary of the committee, Ismael Auwal, on Thursday said the colloquium, which is intended to be an annual event, will hold at the Umaru Musa ‘Yar’adua Hall, located at Murtala Square, Kaduna.

According to the secretary, the colloquium, with the theme ‘Muhammadu Sanusi II: An Icon of Reforms,’ is aimed at celebrating the personality and achievements of the former central banker as an ‘Icon of Reforms’ across domains – as a public intellectual, a seasoned technocrat and a traditional and religious authority – who made remarkable contributions to transformation of northern Nigeria and the country at large.
