Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State has sympathised with the Emir of Pataskum, Umaru Bubaram and other motorists along the Kaduna-Zaria expressway in the state.
A statement on Thrusday, by Commissioner for Information, Home Affairs and Culture, Abdullahi Bego, said the governor expressed his sadness and regret over the information about the attack by armed bandits and criminals on the motorcade of the emir and other victims.
DAILY NIGERIAN reports that the attack had caused the death of four of the emir’s staff, including a driver and three courtiers. Many other innocent motorists were also fatally and severely affected.
According to him, his thoughts and prayers are with the Mai Pataskum, the families of his deceased staff and those who sustained injuries as a result of the callous and criminal attack.
“I pray Almighty Allah, SWT, to grant eternal repose to the souls of the departed and give their families the fortitude to bear the loss.
“I also wishes for those who were injured fast recovery,” he prayed.
Mr Buni further called on security agencies to continue to step up effort to tackle banditry, robbery and other criminal activities in the state.
He therefore assured them of the continuous support and partnership of the government and people of Yobe State.
