A Kano-based businessman, Abdullahi Namama, has launched a courier service, named Touch life Logistics Limited, TLL.
Speaking at the launching ceremony in Kano on Monday, Mr Namama who is the Chairman of Namama Group of Companies said the service is expected to rival FEDEX, DHL, and other courier companies in the country.
According to him, the company started rendering services locally by using Keke Napep and motorcycles to deliver goods at motor parks and other places.
“We started as what could be called errand boys, where we sent our staff to deliver goods bought by some of our customers who are away from Kano State.
“We used Keke Napep and motorbikes to deliver the items to them at motor parks. However, with the COVID-19 lockdown, the services had to stop. We then sit and charted the way forward.
“Now, we have modernised the business to the world standard, like that of FEDEX, DHL, UPS and others. We are gradually moving there until we go ahead of them God willing,” he said.
The chairman also disclosed that the company had employed 18 staff so far, adding that 10 motorbikes also had been procured for delivery within Kano and its environs.
He added that a lot of entrepreneurs and companies had contacted the TLL for partnership, saying: “even those women entrepreneurs who sell products online has established a partnership with us for the delivery of their items to their respective customers”.
“We are targeting partnership with at least 30 companies within Kano and from all indication, this is something that is achievable,” he added.
