A member representing Pankshin/ Kanke/Kanam Federal Constituency, Yusuf Gagdi, has reportedly purchased a brand new Lexus RX, a crossover SUV, to celebrate his daughter’s graduation from secondary school and obtaining good grades in her Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations, UTME.

The daughter, Aisha Gadgi, graduated from Lead British International School Abuja, on Saturday.

A Facebook user, Saminu Maigoro, shared pictures of the teenager, together with her dad, showcasing the luxury vehicle.

“Congratulations, Aisha Yusuf Gagdi, on your graduation from Lead British International School Abuja. May it be the beginning of a wonderful journey of life.

“To celebrate her graduation and great performance in JAMB, her father surprised her with a gift of a car,” Mr Maigoro said.

Commenting on the post, some users congratulated Ms Aisha for the gift, while others blasted the lawmaker for being insensitive to the current economic realities in the country.

A user, Kimkigo Kimkigo, said, “Congratulations and best wishes, dear sister, may this car gift at this early stage serve as an encouragement and not a privilege to divide from the journey to stardom as recorded in your academic performances so far.”

Kamardeen Ibrahim Umar said, “Congratulations to her, but how can we progress as a country like this where an intelligent son of a common Nigerian is struggling to pay for his Jamb, Waec, or Neco, if he is lucky enough and managed to pay for the exams and successfully passed, he cannot afford for the hiked university tuitions.

“And on the other hand, the politicians that the common people voted into power are busy syphoning, stealing, and sharing our national resources for them to enjoy and spoil their families with.Let’s #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria”

Amar Ibrahim said, “See hungry poor people congratulating their looters. How many of you can afford the type of school she attended? Nigerians are not serious! We are the cause of our problems.”

Attempts to get the response of Mr Gadgi were unsuccessful as he did not respond to SMS and WhatsApp messages seeking his reaction.
