North West governors meet, strategise region’s socio-economic development

The seven governors of North West region on Friday signed the North West Economic Cooperation and Integration Charter for Kano, Kaduna, Sokoto, Katsina, Kebbi, Jigawa, and Zamfara States.
The charter is on ‘Economic Cooperation and Fair Manner’ through a strategy that will facilitate and accelerate socio-economic integration process in the zone.
The meeting, which took place at the Katsina State Governor’s Lodge, Asokoro, Abuja, was chaired by the governor of Katsina State, Aminu Masari.
After the meeting the signed charter was displayed by all the governors to show their commitments and affirmation to the agreement.
The charter was jointly signed by Governors Aminu Masari of Katsina State, Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State, Nasir El Rufa’i of Kaduna State, Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa State, Abubakar Bagudu of Kebbi State, Abdulaziz Yari of Zamfara State and Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State.
