The governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the ongoing governorship election is leading the poll with a comfortable margin.

Official results of 13 Local Governments so far announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has put the governor in pole position.

Although 14 political parties participated in the election, but the contest was believed to have largely been between the incumbent governor, Obaseki and Osagie Ize-Iyamu of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

The election held in 18 Local Government Areas, 192 Wards, and 2,627 polling units.
