The Ogun State Police Command has arrested six herdsmen over alleged killing of a taxi driver and abduction of an officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, in the state.
A statement signed by the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 2 Command, Ahmed Iliyasu, on Wednesday, said the suspects were also responsible for multiple kidnapping in Yewa North Local Government Area of the state.
According to Mr Iliyasu, the herdsmen had ambushed the Ayetoro-Abeokuta road to attack their victims, disclosing that the herdsmen had also collected N3million as ransom for the NSCDC officer.
While identifying the suspects as Adamu Saliu, Abubakar Sadiq, Tambaye Mohammed, Adamu Sulaiman, Ibrahim Mohammed and Akanni Musa, Mr Iliyasu assured that they would be prosecuted.
