Sani Kofar-Gabas, a resident of Rimin Gado Local Government Area of Kano State, has reportedly killed his own three-year-old daughter with local insecticide.
Confirming the incident, Magaji Majiya, the spokesman of the state Police command, told journalists on Monday that Mr Kofar-Gabas poisoned his daughter with local insecticide known as Otapiapia following a leg fracture.
According to Mr Majiya, the suspect, who confessed to his crime, said he was angered by his daughter because she had been crying unnecessarily due to a fracture she sustained in her leg.

He added that the deceased started vomiting after taking the poison and Mr Kofar-Gabas feigned ignorance over what made the little girl vomit and took her to the hospital where she was confirmed dead.
The police spokesman, however, said the suspect would soon be arraigned before a court of competent jurisdiction for trial.
Speaking on behalf of the family, the deceased maternal grandfather, Saminu Suleiman said they would make sure that Mr Kofar-Gabas is punished for killing his own daughter.
